Lately, it seems that a lot of my blogging is ways to save time. Why I run out of time. The things I leave by the wayside. Ahem...laundry folding.

The reality is, that there just isn't enough time in the day to do absolutely everything I want. One thing I'm not going to sacrifice on, is the kids and their nutrition. The power of a Quickie.

Time for cleaning? What's that?! I will be the first to admit that I put off cleaning my shower for longer than I probably should. Why? Because it takes forever. It's a fully tiled shower with a glass surround. Plenty of space to get filthy.

So when the folks behind this Quickie household scrubber asked if I wanted to try it, I was all over it. I got the scrubber, some replacement heads and those super cute gloves in the mail. 

And off to cleaning I went. 

Now, don't let the grime of my shower change your opinion of me. I mean. I would much rather spend my time shopping than cleaning these bajillion grout lines. 

After spraying a little of my normal cleaner, I tried the flat scour pad first. It started to get all that ground in grime off the middle of the tiles like a dream. All I was going was holding the scrubber as it quickly spun and did all the work. 

The I tried the brush attachment. That sucker did a number on my grout. By the time I was done, the soap bubbles were the grossest brown/pink I've ever seen. 

Here's a before and after. And that ground in funk? Was so easily gone! 

When I saw the size of the Quickie household scrubber, I honestly thought it would take forever to cover all the surfaces I wanted to clean. It didn't! It was fast and I didn't feel like I needed to see the chiropractor when I was finished! 

The Quickie scrubber is waterproof and battery operated. The small size actually made it really easy to get around the smaller spaces in my shower. It didn't quite get into the far corners, but that wouldn't stop me from buying it. I'm impressed!

When I think of Green Giant, I think veggies. I think about the the 10 foot green giant wrapped in leaves that stood outside our produce stand when I grew up. But now, Green Giant has a giant surprise.

Green Giant has now taken their famous veggies and created their new Veggie Chips! Snackers can now have a great tasting chip they can feel good about. 

I was sent two different varieties of their new veggie chips to taste. First up, the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Zesty Cheddar.

They were delish and although they spread their cheesy goodness on my boys fingers, they loved them, too. Made with real vegetables and offering 17 grams of whole grain per serving, these cheesy gems are a great choice. A great choice that didn't last more than 10 minutes. Seriously. Gone. 

Next up, the Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips in Sea Salt flavor.

I'm a massive fan of sweet potatoes. These chips are a very thin crisp that didn't really taste like sweet potato to me. But I wasn't complaining. It was very similar to an actual potato chip, but with 40 percent less fat than regular ones, I can eat these without guilt. They also offer 14 grams of whole grain per serving. And we all know I ate more than one serving! 

We are pretty heavy between meal snackers around my house. I love that with these chips, I can sneak some veggies in my boys without complaints. It's just nice having an easy, prepared snack I can give them to hold them over until dinner and feel good about.

A movie for the whole family: Escape From Planet Earth

Last weekend, we went to DC for an early screening of the new movie, Escape From Planet Earth. It comes out February 15th and it was a total win. Funny, action packed without being scary and all around great for the whole family. I'm always a little hesitant about alien movies, because I don't want anything to scare the boys. None of the characters in this movie were scary at all. 

In the movie, a couple of aliens find their way to earth and get captured, leaving the other aliens trying to get them out. I won't tell you everything that happened, but it was a good movie. It will probably be one of the few purchased ones around here. The boys loved it and Sophia Vergara was a voice, so obviously the hubs liked it. Hehe.

In a season filled with gift buying, money spending and serious cases of the "gimmes", it's so refreshing to see giving back. Macy's has chosen Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, to support through employment in their fair trade, Heart of Haiti line. 

The program currently employees 780 artisans, who they pay in excess of fair wage, so they are able to make a living, feed their families and send their children to school. People you won't find a paparazzi picture of in a magazine, but they are stars to me.
